quick note... i wanted to acknowledge the death of august wilson, who wrote fences and many other plays about american life. i know my dad must be sad, if he's heard (he's on a trip), and i know a lot of people must be sad. especially in minneapolis and st. paul. darth vader must be sad. i'm sure he's crying. james earl jones was great playing the dad in fences. that was kind of a baseball, father/son tragedy comedy musing on generational differences. i interviewed august wilson once about colorblind casting, and he laid out an inspiring vision for a more beautiful american theater and more beautiful america.
