it's ok

I feel a bit softer toward the foo fighters as i just found out the song "everlong" is apparently about doing drugs and stuff with kurt cobain.

it never felt ingenuous to me as a song about boy-girl romantic love; but i'll buy it as a sort of lament/tribute to rock/drugs love.

I love the song Everlong and the album it's on is one hell of a good album, in it's entirety. I hardly ever find a whole album that I like anymore.

And Kate, wouldya put a link to my charity/marathon website on the side of your blog, with the others? It's:

And I have more good stuff for the radio show. Cawl me...

Some other Foo Fightery thoughts I didn't put down: I dunno, I seem to remember that Jeff and maybe you too seem to distrust them, their motives, and their songs. And that this distrust colors the way you hear their music. Maybe this is inevitable for a music reviewer. You have such history and deep background facts that probably flow into your head as you listen. But me? I listen with the lightness that comes from early onset Alzheimers. And I gotta tell you, I just really like the Fighters that Foo. Interesting lyrics, great hooks, sometimes raw vocals, sometimes velvet. I could do without Grohl's crazy gum chewing, but that is my only complaint.
